OUR MISSION STATEMENT:

"The mission of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribal Police Department is to provide effective and comprehensive law enforcement  for the citizens of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation.  We strive to achieve this goal through self-dedication to incorporate training and experience and utilize then as tools to better answer  the law enforcements needs of the public we serve; as well as foster an atmosphere of trust within the community.  The Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribal Police Department is dedicated to providing services in a 'Firm, Fair and Consistent' manner with the utmost degree of honor, fidelity and integrity"

The Potawatomi Tribal Police Department is the primary Law Enforcement agency for the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation’s reservation in Jackson County, Kansas.

All Tribal Police Officers are federal Deputy Special Officers (DSO) commissioned through the Bureau of Indian Affairs – Office of Law Enforcement Services and maintain state of Kansas officer certifications.

We are located at 16344 Q Road, Mayetta, KS 66509 - just across the street from the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Government Center.
